THE LAW OF LEAST EFFORT – Day 8

It seemed like, after the election, the LAST THING that I wanted to talk about was the Law of Least Effort.

In fact, I felt so fired up inside for action, I couldn’t find the place from which to enter the conversation again. I wanted to talk about Divinely Inspired Action, Global Responsablity, the Oneness of all things…there were a lot of things burning up my heart.

And here we are now, a day past Christmas, with the New Year right in front of us. And I’m sure many artists… well, me for starters, is saying….what do I want to create now? What do I want to bring into the world?

And if you are like me, its not just one thing, for me its like 14 things.

Actually, I just counted, it is really is 14 things.

So, here’s were I think the Law of Least Effort can help. (And I’m honestly just coaching myself here, and if anyone wants to read along, you are welcome to!) Vincent Van Gogh said, “Great things are done by a series of small things brought together.” In fact, that is what is on a very cute notepad that my friend bought me for Christmas. It’s staring me in the face.

Okay, I’m paying attention…

I’m committed to starting small. Least Effort.

One thing.

After many days of one thing, it becomes many things. And so, when I plug into my Inner Direction is whispers to me this… Just sit down… just do the one thing today. Be here now. That is all.

One thing. Here and Now.

It can be simple, but it allows the Great Thing to begin.

EXERCISE for Day 8:

What’s one small thing that you can do today?

  1. Too perfect dear Kristin! I was drifting through the day today, pleasantly, but drifting, inner voices nudging me “you’re supposed to work on your book!” followed by “just wait, take it easy.” Well an hour ago I finally felt ready to actually look at my notes, and was flooded with ideas answering the key questions I’ve been wresting with for weeks and weeks. Least effort + one small thing = big results!!!
    Happy New Year!!!
